This badge was given on the very first shift of carrying out the police duties on the whole camp which was not very difficult; Standing at gates, asking for permits to enter buildings, collecting and issuing keys to doors and lockers for security.

At night patrolling the site, sitting for hours at the entrance of buildings.

Daytime traffic directing. With the gendarmerie to Send masts outside Fontainebleau. Without a weapon, only the badge was sufficient. And my looks of course!

I spend 18 month in Fontainebleau. From 14 July 1964 till 14 January 1966 then I flew back to the Hague with 5 other fellows . Our military duty came then to an end and nobody asked me to give back the badge; my souvenir!
